These are the ones I would have circled.

Circling is most of the job. Anybody can take four thousand photographs at a wedding. The work is knowing which six hundred are worth keeping, and which one on each sheet is worth putting on a wall.

You get all six hundred either way, in a gallery you can download whole. I will tell you which ones I would print, and you are free to disagree with me.

FRAME 11

The day

An empty country kitchen at first light, one chair pulled out from the table.

I get there while the house is still quiet and the dress is still hanging on the door. I leave when the last table is loud and nobody is thinking about a camera any more.

One person, the whole way.

No second shooter, no assistant handing me lenses. It means I know what happened at breakfast when I photograph the toast at eleven. It means there is nobody in your house you have not met.

It also means I only take one wedding a weekend, and that is the part you should ask me about early.

The terms

A long outdoor table set for a meal under trees.

One wedding a weekend, and three ways to have it photographed.

The Afternoon $3,400

Six hours

The ceremony, the portraits, and the first hour of the party while everyone still has their shoes on.

Around three hundred and fifty edited frames.

The Long Day $4,900

Ten hours

The quiet part of the morning through to the loud part of the night. This is the one most people mean.

Around six hundred edited frames.

The Weekend $7,200

Two days

The night before as well, and the slow morning after. For weddings that are not one day long.

Around eleven hundred edited frames.

All three come back in a gallery you can download whole, delivered in six weeks, plus a box of proofs on paper because a screen is not where you will want them in ten years.

Travel inside South Australia is included. Further than that and we work it out.

The last frame on the roll.

Tell me the date and where. If I am free I will say so within a day. If I am not, I will tell you who is good.

If the date is open I will send you the three options and what each one covers, and we can talk on the phone if that is easier than writing.

If it is already taken you will hear that straight away. A photographer who leaves you waiting a fortnight before saying no has cost you the one you could have booked instead.
